Doburoku Sake Festival, Inuyama

Description Sankō Inari Shrine, located on the grounds of Inuyama castle, holds their annual sake festival. Also a great chance to check out one of Japan’s 12 original construction castles if you haven’t already.
Access Take the Meitetsu Inuyama line to Inuyama Station. The shrine is approximately a 15-minute walk.

Chinese New Year Festival, Nagoya

Description A celebration of Chinese New Year, involving traditional Chinese dance and martial arts performances, and of course appropriately themed food and drinks for the event.

89th Bonsai Exhibition by the Chubu Bonsai Association, Nagoya

Description The Chubu Bonsai Association hold their yearly exhibition at Fukiage Hall. There will be bonsai workshops for beginners, a tea ceremony, as well as bonsai exhibits and stalls.

Kota Kite flying festival, Kota

Description An annual event to celebrate the new year, with over a hundred colorful kites being flown alongside various stage events, such as traditional Japanese drumming, and food stalls.

Access Take the JR Tokaido main line towards Gamagori, and get off at Koda station. Take a shuttle bus from the west exit to the event site.

Next Generation World Hobby Fair, Nagoya

Description Held at the Nagoya Dome, this huge event is also hosted in Tokyo and Osaka. Fans of popular video games and anime series can preview the latest games, take part in events, and buy exclusive merchandise.

Tokai Flower Show, Tokai City

Description Tokai is a city known for its production of orchids. At this annual event there’ll be plenty on display, including many rare species. There will also be be plants for sale, and gardening workshops. So if agriculture is your jam, this botanical event will have plenty to keep your green fingers busy.
Access The flower show will be held in the City’s public gymnasium, which is an approximate 15-minute walk from Otagawa station on the Meitetsu Tokoname line.
